End-user licence agreements.

This personal-use licence accompanies the Line9 CLI binary and the free web viewer at line9.ai. Use of the software constitutes acceptance.

1. Grant

Line9 grants you a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and run the Line9 CLI, and to use the web viewer at line9.ai, for personal, non-commercial purposes. This grant covers hobby projects, personal blogs, side projects that are not yet revenue-generating, individual open-source contribution, self-study, teaching yourself, and personal experimentation on your own machine outside of paid employment.

2. Commercial use excluded

Use by or on behalf of an organisation, use producing diagrams for paid client work or revenue-generating products, and use as part of paid employment, contracting, or freelance work are commercial use and require a paid licence. A paid licence is obtained by subscribing to Line9 Pro at line9.ai/pricing.

3. Commercial-evaluation window

The personal-use licence additionally permits a brief commercial-evaluation window — on the order of two weeks — during which you may use the otherwise-personal-use CLI inside an organisation to decide whether to adopt Line9 Pro. Evaluation use remains in personal-use mode: watermarked output, no publish-to-cloud, no premium themes. After the evaluation window, organisational use requires a Pro subscription.

4. Output

Diagrams rendered under the personal-use licence carry a visible line9.ai attribution mark and a permanent SVG metadata comment. You own the content of the diagrams you render; the mark and metadata are a condition of the free grant.

5. Restrictions

You may not redistribute the Line9 binary or rebrand it, sublicence the software, remove the attribution mark from rendered output, or use the software to render diagrams as part of a paid product or service. Reverse engineering is permitted only to the extent applicable law expressly allows it despite this restriction.

6. No warranty

The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Line9 disclaims all liability for damages arising from your use of the software.

7. Termination

This licence terminates automatically if you breach it. On termination, you must stop using the software and delete your local copies. The personal-use licence is otherwise indefinite.

8. Trademarks

“Line9” and the Line9 mark are trademarks of Moverve Limited. This licence grants no permission to use those trademarks except as required for reasonable and customary description of the origin of the software. The watermark applied to personal-use output must not be removed, obscured, or altered.

This commercial-use licence applies to anyone who subscribes to Line9 Pro. By completing checkout you accept its terms. It supersedes the personal-use licence for the duration of your subscription.

1. Grant

Subject to your active subscription, Line9 grants you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to use the Line9 CLI and the line9.ai web app for your internal business purposes, on the number of seats you have paid for. A seat is a named user; one human, one seat.

2. Seats and workspaces

Each paid seat permits one named user to access a workspace. Seats may be reassigned to other users but may not be shared concurrently. Adding seats is prorated; removing seats is scheduled and credited on the next renewal per the billing terms shown at checkout and in the billing portal.

3. Subscription and billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance, in the currency shown at checkout, via Stripe. Stripe Tax computes and collects applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST. You may cancel at any time through the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period and is not refunded for the unused remainder of that period.

4. Acceptable use and output

You retain full ownership of every diagram you render. Pro output is unwatermarked in rendered SVG and PNG; a permanent <!-- Rendered by Line9 — line9.ai --> SVG metadata comment is retained for provenance and is not considered a watermark. You agree not to use the software to produce content that infringes third-party rights, violates applicable law, or attempts to overload or circumvent Line9's published API limits.

5. Licence enforcement and offline grace

The CLI periodically validates its licence with the Line9 service. A signed entitlement token is cached locally for offline use; that cache provides a 14-day offline grace period before re-validation is required. If your subscription lapses, the CLI returns to personal-use mode automatically.

6. Restrictions

You may not sublicence the software, redistribute the Line9 binary, embed the Line9 engine in a product offered to third parties, or use the software to provide a competing rendering service. Embedded rendering and bulk licensing are covered by separate agreements available via /for-orchestration-vendors.

7. Confidentiality

Any non-public information Line9 shares with you marked or reasonably treated as confidential must be held in confidence and used only to operate your subscription. This does not apply to information that becomes publicly available through no fault of yours.

8. Warranty disclaimer

The software and service are provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Line9 disclaims all implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, except where such warranties cannot be disclaimed under the law of your jurisdiction.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Line9's aggregate liability arising out of or relating to your subscription is limited to the amounts you have paid in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. In no event shall Line9 be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.

10. Changes to these terms

Line9 may update this commercial-use licence as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced via email to the billing-primary address on file at least thirty days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
